With spiking becoming a major problem in Australia and abroad, this is a simple device that just clicks on to a bottle to protect the drinker.

Is spiking really a major problem?

Well, the statistics speak for themselves. The Australian Institute of Criminology’s National Project on Drink Spiking estimated that in the year to June 2003, between 3000 and 4000 drink-spiking incidents occurred. In the month of March 2006 a Sydney hospital reported a 53% rise of drink spiking incidents from the same time in 2005. Although the drug is most commonly used by men against women, one-in-5 victims of drug-assisted sexual assault is male.
